| Day 1: | Depart Canada for Australia. | | | Day 2: | We cross the international date line | | | Day 3: | Arrive Sydney International Airport – where you clear customs and meet Quadrant Australia specialist Tour Manager, who will accompany you for the duration of your time in the country. You are transferred to hotel located in the heart of the shopping and tourist precinct. The balance of day is free for you to relax after your long flight. Grace Hotel or similar. | | | Day 4: | A city and beaches tour this morning, taking in the historic `Rocks' area at the southern end of the Harbour Bridge, the fashionable Eastern Suburbs, and famous Bondi Beach. On returning to the city you are taken for a luncheon cruise on the magnificent Sydney Harbour. The rest of the day is free for you explore the city on your own – perhaps a walk around the world famous Opera House, or a trip Taronga Park Zoo. This evening you have dinner in the revolving restaurant atop of Sydney Tower – Australia’s highest building. Grace Hotel or similar. | | | Day 5: | Free day to see Royal Easter Show is on at Homebush Showgrounds, attracting around one million each year making it Australia's largest annual event. During the afternoon there will be horse events, wood chopping, and thousands of other competitive exhibitions taking place. In the evening there is a 'Light and Sound' show in the main area. | | | Day 6: | Travelling north, you leave Sydney on the Newcastle Expressway before turning westward into the fertile Hunter River Valley, noted for bloodstock, dairy, beef and wines. There will be a visit to one of the famous wineries with an opportunity to sample the vintage. The afternoon is spent travelling north with a visit to a leading thoroughbred horse stud. Later you cross the Great Dividing Range and enter the Liverpool Plains. This is an area of extensive grain and cotton production. Later in the day you will travel through Tamworth, the 'Country Music Capital of Australia', and onto farm stay accommodation near Manila.
Oakhampton Homestead (or similar) | | | Day 7: | Travel north this morning onto the New England Tablelands where you will visit Banalasta, a property growing essential oils for the health and skin care – as well as high altitude cool climate wines. Later you continue to Armidale, where you will enjoy lunch with one of the local community groups representing a unique feature of the life style in regional Australia. During the afternoon you continue towards the coast across a region known locally as the ‘Waterfall Way’ where you will visit some of the nations most spectacular waterfalls as well as the award winning Rainforest Centre near the little town of Dorrigo. Later arrive at the coastal town of Coffs Harbour and check into beachside accommodation for overnight stay. Opal Cove Resort (or similar) | | | Day 8: | Today you travel north running parallel to the Pacific Ocean and crossing three large coastal rivers – which makes the region known as the ‘Northern Rivers of NSW’. During the morning you will pass by sugar cane plantations and a tour will be made of the sugar mill at Condong on the Tweed River. Later you cross the border and arrive into an area known as the Gold Coast where you will check into your resort accommodation.
Gold Coast International Hotel (or similar) | | | Day 9: | Today is a free day for you to explore the Gold Coast as you wish. Your hotel is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise and close to world famous surf beaches. Shopping areas, restaurants and nightclubs are situated right at your hotel, and within a short distance there are theme parks as well as Jupiters Casino. Later regather for farewell dinner at the ‘Outback Spectacular Show’ a Warner Brothers Extravaganza!
Gold Coast International Hotel (or similar)
